My Education was around the Sciences…

My early carer was as a Biochemist first in hospitals and then the private sector.

I moved from there into managerial roles finding i have a talent for understanding structures and performance and making financial savings from that. All very boring stuff involving lots of math and excel spreadsheets.

My escape was in following the arts. I devour books not having owned a TV licence in well over a decade.

Give me performance art, sculpture, Live music, anything to invoke passion.

In regards to self expression when it came to art I have only found two areas where i had any skills worthy of developing. Cooking and photography and i spend a lot of time experimenting both.

For a long time I felt quite the fraud when it came to my photography. Composition did not come naturally and I used my scientific background to approach photography as a series of mathematic formula to create my work in regards to composition and settings, neither of which came naturally to me for many years.

I haven't looked back since the moment it struck me that I am now, and have been for a while, actually expressing my own feelings in my photography as opposed a staid  palette of colours and structure created from formulas.
